Silver Screen

The spectacular success of Avatar has sparked a Hollywood stampede to retrofit movies to
3-D.  But will the public be buying?

This kind of stuff seems like just a ploy to milk more money out of popular franchises. 3D movies are nice, but they just make me mad. Haha. Ah well.

I subscribe to Peter Travers' Rolling Stone podcast. In his most recent reviews, he did a long rant on the remake of "Clash of the Titans." It was scathing.

If people want to shell out even bigger bucks to see a perfectly good (or stunningly mediocre) 2-D flick that's been pumped up artificially to resemble 3-D, I say let them waste their money.

This reminds me of the insanely misguided 'colorizing' craze a couple of decades ago.
